04 FEB 1891 Pike County Democrat "Marcellus Arnold a few miles east of this place departed this life last Thursday [28 JAN 1891] and was buried Friday. His age at death was 38 years, 2 months and 29 days [31 OCT 1852]. Since the 22d of August, 1868, he has been a faithful member of White River Church (Baptist). He was laid in his last resting place in the honor of the order F.M.B.A., of which he was a member. He leaves a wife, six children, one sister, one brother and a host of friends and relatives and kind friends to mourn the loss of a kind husband, and affectionate father and a good neighbor. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." and "Elder J. W. Richardson called at this office Friday, on his way home from the funeral of Marcellus Arnold at which he officiated." At this time, the F.M.B.A. was the Farmers' Mutual Benefit Association.
