Did you know that October is National Family History Month here in the U.S.A.? Why not reach out to family members you know (or would like to know) by connecting with more cousins on Facebook, investigating your DNA matches a little closer, or visiting a couple of cemeteries. October is the perfect month to visit cemeteries and "dig up" details about our ancestors' deaths. Solving family history mysteries is an exciting project that brings us all together. What project will you be working on this month?
Holy cow - over 113,000 cousins! We're not in a contest to see how many relatives we have, but rather we try to add all we find. In the some seven years we've been assembling this data, we've grown it from two seed GEDCOMs with a total of 1800 names, to now over 113,000 Arnold and Moberly relations. It has been a lot of fun, and a great deal of time invested, but the path has been eased with wonderful cousins who too have contributed much. Thanks to all of you who help - it really is appreciated
It is a pleasure to report that the software we use, webtrees, has progressed to the point that handling databases of this size is no longer a challenge, supported by a powerful web server. This open source software is easy to install and configure and it handles the import of GEDCOM-compliant family trees with ease. Best of all, it is free! We are an involved team member in the design, improvement and support of this software, and we've put our experience to use with a reasonably-priced webtrees hosting service, webtreesonline.com, for those that wish to develop their own family trees.
Thanks again to OnlyTOYS.com, an online specialty toy retailer, for supplying the bandwidth and server hardware to make this site possible. If you need Playmobil, Darda, Erector sets or other specialty toy items, please consider shopping there first.

UPDATE (5:45pm, 29 OCT 2011)
We think this problem has just been fixed. Please let us know if you still experience problems.
We have recently experienced a change in code that has caused the 'restricted to close relatives' method of setting edit rights for our users to fail in some situations. This means that you may not see what you normally see and you may not be able to access relatives and change (edit or add) individuals or families.
You can still review the deceased persons and links on the site, but do so as a visitor and don't log in, as the bug will begin as soon as you do so.
We are working diligently to extinguish this bug and correct the problem and hope to have it repaired within the next few days (by November 1st, 2011). We will post here when the fix has been submitted and the site operating correctly. We regret the problem, but when we use cutting edge code to run the site and serve as a test facility, this can occasionally be the case.
Thanks for your patience,
Stephen and Kate Arnold
We have just updated our webtrees software (pretty much in a constant state of change) to include the new individual page simplified headers and the improved navigational sidebar. Please enjoy these new features and let us know if you experience any problems.

UPDATE: We have just updated again, making some significant improvements in the overall speed of page loads, and a much better performance from the INDI and FAM listing pages.
You are now using a pre-release version of webtrees v1.2. This includes an improved administration interface (which will make my life easier), some refactoring of SQL calls which have resulted in significant performance (speed) improvements, and the new Google Map v3 API, replacing the deprecated v2, and improving maps a great deal.
At this time we know of no major problems, but be sure to email us if you find errors so we can correct them promptly.

The more than 113,210 individuals, 14,492 surnames, and 38,344 families listed within this web site comprise the extended ARNOLD and MOBERLY families and their known-to-us genealogical histories. Our web site contains information compiled through the meticulous and time-consuming efforts of our many relatives and friends as well as other participating family researchers, and includes contributions by several distant ''cousins''. These family branches have deep roots in early Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia, by way of very early colonial Virginia, Pennsylvania and the Carolinas.
Our family tree is in near-constant flux and was last updated on August 23, 2020. This collective and cooperative repository of family data, as presented herein, is by no means complete and most certainly contains some errors. We hope you can offer corrections or wish to contribute additional information, pictures, or documentation. Please use the built-in email function to advise us so (see footer below) or if you are a relative of ours, you may request membership/registration (at right). Any and all of your comments are encouraged and are always welcome. NOTE: Registration to view deceased ancestors on this site is not necessary. You need only register if you plan to participate by contributing information and materials via our online databases. Please review the MyArnolds.com FAQ, linked here, at right or above in the help menu for more information on registration requirements, benefits and for a recap of our strict site privacy policies.
This Arnold Family site is presented online using webtrees, a free open-source, collaborative, online genealogy program. This page provides an introduction and overview to our ancestral history. To begin working with the data, select one of this site's favorites (below or from the header), choose one of the charts from the charts menu, go to the individual or family list feature, or search for a name or place using the search function at the top right. Also, a browser hint: webtrees works best with the most current browser versions as it has extensive use of javascript and Ajax. We highly recommend you use the free Firefox, Safari and Chrome browsers. We no longer support older versions of Internet Explorer (IE-6, 7, and soon IE8), Netscape, early AOL browsers, and almost any older browser.
Thank you for visiting our extended family history sites, MyArnolds.com and MyMoberlys.com. We look forward to sharing our families with all of you - our ''cousins''.

If you need the services of an honest, skilled private investigator, MyArnolds.com recommends you hire Arnold Investigations. Their unclaimed funds and property division, The Money Locator$, is one of the best sleuths in the USA at finding abandoned monies, unclaimed funds. lost insurance claims and big refunds of delinquent tax sales of your home. Many times you don't even know you have money waiting. If you were the victim of a forced home sale for taxes, or suspect you may have unclaimed funds, give The Money Locator$ a call and see if they can't find you some money!
We have made another switch, to the new version 1.7.9 of webtrees!
Some of you may know that I have been closely involved with the development of the next generation of online, collaborative genealogy software, officially titled "webtrees". Its initial release (version 1.0) was in January, 2017. As of February, we have converted all our sites to the latest webtrees platform release, v1.7+.
Feel free to ask how to do something with this new program, but we believe you'll find it even easier and faster in overall functionality, with additional improvements to navigation and features to occur in the near-term. We also took this opportunity to upgrade the server software to MacOS-X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) and the latest PHP and MySQL. We hope to be installing MaxOS-X 10.10 (Yosemite) or 10.11 El Capitan shortly.
Thanks for your participation in this site and for your contributions of time, family information, photos and documents.
