Christian's will was dated April 10, 1835 and was entered in January 1846, further confirming that he probably died late in 1845. The first bequest read, "I give and bequeath to my dear wife, Frances Bruner, the whole of the tract of land on which I now live with my family, together with all the livestock, plantation tools, and utensils and household furniture. for and during her natural life. " she was given permission to sell or dispose of as she pleased all except the land. The land in Indiana was to be divided equally between the children and when Frances dies, the Jessamine County land was to be sold and the money divided equally between the children. Another clause of particular interest reads as follows. "it is also expressly my will that my granddaughter, Elizabeth Nave, the child of my daughter, Delilah, shall be counted in the division of my estate as one of my own children and shall have her equal proportion of my estate with my children, and it is my will that the portion of my estate which is to go to my granddaughter shall be held in the hands of my executors until my granddaughter may marry or become of age". Frances Bruner and her sons Fountain and Enoch, were appointed executors
