Note: Alpheus P. Walker, an importer of Jersey cattle and proprietor of the Jersey Isle stock farm, near Rushville, visited Indianapolis Saturday and greeted friends at the Claypool. Mr. Walker not long ago sold a fine Jersey bull, Derry's Golden Jolly, to W.K. Schoepf, proprietor of the Sheffield farms at Glendale, O., for 411.000 and later sold Mr. Schoepf another bull, the Plymouth Lad, for $9,000. Mr. Schoepf is president of the Cincinnati Traction Company and is a personal friend of Hugh J. McGowan of this city. Through him Mr. McGowan has become interested in Jersey cattle and recently purchased several head of Jerseys fro his farm two and one--half miles north of Indianapolis. Mr. Walker will depart some time in the future for the Jersey Isles to buy some high-priced cattle. He brought word that the Indiana Jersey Cattle Club will meet at the Denison Hotel Jan. 11. Lieutenant Governor Frank J. Hall will address the meeting and a representative of the American Jersey Cattle Club will speak. Jan. 11 and 12 the State Dairy Association will meet at Purdue University.
