Note:
The inscription on this stone clearly reads: Died Dec 7, 1889 Aged ?2 years. Pike county history site mis-typed or transcribed age as 22yo rather than 72yo. While some say this has to do with serving, perhaps, some 22 years as the minister for the Log Creek General Baptist Church, it is more likely simply a fancy "7" that has eroded, since the stone says "Aged", not "Served". Frankly, it is easy to see this resemblance if one looks at the fancy-styled "7 in his death date line.
