The Telephone Register, McMinnville, Oregon, Thursday, Nov. 29, 1945 RITES SET FOR WIDOW OF LATE PUBLISHER Mrs. Inez Bladine Dies Tuesday Night After Long Illness Funeral services for Mrs. Inez D. Waterman Bladine, mother of Jack B. and Philip N. Bladine, publisher and editor of the Telephone Register, will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Macy's chapel. The Rev. Dr. Claude E. Sayre will officiate. Mrs. Bladine died Tuesday evening after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Bladine was the widow of the late Lars E. Bladine, publisher of the Telephone Register from 1928 until his unexpected death Jan. 13, 1941. Following the funeral services here the body will be sent to Cedar Falls, Ia., where Dahl's mortuary will conduct final rites and direct interment in Greenwood cemetery beside the body of her late husband. Both sons will go east for the last services. Married In 1900 Inez Waterman Bladine was born at Newell, Ia., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Waterman. In May 1900, she was married at Newell to Lars E. Bladine and the couple began a life of newspaper publishing which saw them associated with at least four Iowa papers and the Telephone Register. Mr. Bladine published the Albert City, Ia., Appeal, the Webster City, Ia., Freeman-Tribune, the Cedar Falls Record and the Clinton, Ia., Advertiser before coming west to Oregon in 1932 to take over active management of the Telephone Register which he purchased in 1928. Mrs. Bladine had had experience in most of the operations of preparing and printing a newspaper but in recent years did not take an active part in the work. She was a member of the Congregational church. Besides the two sons and four grandchildren, Phyllis, Billy and Patsy and Pemela Jane, she is survived by two brothers, Charles Waterman of Des Moines, Ia., and Glen Waterman of Cedar Falls.
