Note
Title: The Diaries of Evan Pugh, 1762-1801 Author: Transcribed by Horace Fraser Rudisill, Florence, SC Publication: The St. David's Society, 1993, 1 Note: Evan kept a diary from 1762 to 1801. Page: page for the 9-10 Sept. 1764 I have 1850 census detail on Calvin Arnold's household in Pike County, Indiana: Calvin Arnold, 34, farmer b. KY; Eliza 26, b. KY; Robert 5, b. IN; Calvin 4, b. IN; Joseph 3, b. IN and Amanda 1, b. IN. Calvin Arnold was a next door neighbor to Silas Soverns, brother of my ggg grandmother, Nancy Soverns. Nancy Soverns was the daughter of Briant Soverns and Elizabeth Risley whose first husband was Jeremiah Arnold, apparently a brother to Joseph and Josiah Arnold. According to information I have on this Arnold line, they originated in New Jersey, migrated west through Chester Co. PA, Hampshire Co. VA, Kentucky and then to southeastern Indiana.
